Beer for your cellar: Stone’s Vertical Epic Series
By jason on Aug 22, 2007 in Belgian Styles, Cellaring News and Events
Looking for some interesting beer with a cool storyline for your cellar? Of course you are!
Everyone should be sure to check out Stone Breweries latest release in their Vertical Epic series, the 7/07/07. For those of you not familiar with the concept, the Vertical Epic is a series of cellarable beers, each designed to be aged past 12/12/12, each one different from the last. They started with a release on 2/2/2, and each release after that is on the next month, day, and year.
The sixth release in the series, released just this past July 7th, is a Belgian-styled ale taking it’s inspiration from Belgian Tripels and Saisons. It’s been brewed with four different malts and a variety of spices. With bottle-conditioning and an ABV% of 8.4%, it should age well.
I’m a little pissed off that I’ve missed the first five in the series, but I guess starting in the middle is better then not starting at all! Kudos to Stone for such a cool idea!
Anyone know where I can get the earlier vintages?
